Holy Spirit Ranch held a leadership conference in February to make plans for 2015. First among the plans was our annual dental clinic to the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation June 6th through June 13th.

For the past two years we have taken a team of dental professionals and equipment to the sprawling Indian reservation in South Dakota, where we minister to the people there both with our dental work and bringing the word of God in other services.

The Native American people’s history with American Christians is a huge obstacle in reaching these people.

We use our dental clinic as a way to offer them a tangible benefit of our presence in their community and to overcome past history. On the reservation, all societal problems are at horrible levels. Suicide, drug use, teen pregnancies, violence, gang activity are daily facts of life among the people. “It all comes from a spiritual problem,” says Pastor Joe Betts. But Betts said based on his last trip there at Christmas he believes Holy Spirit Ranch’s work with the local churches is starting to make a positive impact. We have developed relationships with the people there who know us because of the dental clinic and yearly coat giveaway.

What we need for this year’s trip:

1. Dental professionals – our team now works solid for a week and we can’t address all the needs. Consider joining us.

2. Finances – if you can’t go but want to help. Consider a donation made directly to this cause. We have a gofundme account for onling giving. We have a gofundme account for onling giving.

3. Prayer – we have prayer teams focusing on the reservation year-round. If you would like to pray for people on the reservation, call Virginia Betts at 706-253-5441 to find out names of people there we pray for on a regular basis.
